Dream Meaning

Few dreamscapes carry as much concentrated symbolism as a garden, which in virtually every culture serves as a mirror of the cultivated inner life — the soul tended or neglected, flourishing or withering. A lush, blooming garden where colors are vivid and the air is fragrant tells you that something inside you is thriving: creativity, love, spiritual development, or emotional health is finding its proper conditions.

A neglected garden, however — overgrown with weeds, its flowers wilted and its paths obscured — confronts you with the truth that something important in your life is being overlooked or starved of care. Tending the garden within a dream, weeding and watering it, is one of the most therapeutically meaningful actions the unconscious can offer.
